A proud Emirati, Mohi-Din BinHendi is a successful entrepreneur, investor, and owner of one of the first retail conglomerates in the UAE.

Early in his career Mohi-Din BinHendi was appointed Director General of the Department of Civil Aviation in June 1979 by special decree issued by the Ruler of Dubai, having previously served as Director of Airport Customs. Mr BinHendi, together with Sheikh Ahmed Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Civil Aviation, was responsible for the development of Dubai International Airport into the Middle East's busiest air terminal, the award-winning Dubai Duty Free Complex, the New Arrivals Terminal, Aviation Club, Aviation College and Dubai Air Cargo Terminal.

He has been elected Chairman of the Retail Group under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. He was also a Member of the Board of Governors at Dubai Aviation College, a Member of the Board of Directors at Emirates Golf Club and Chairman of the Aviation Advisory Committee at Dubai Men's College. Gulf Business Awards elected him '1994 Gulf Chief Executive of the Year' for his efforts not only for Dubai International Airport, but in the whole field of civil aviation.

Mr BinHendi was accorded the 'Grand Decoration of Honour in Silver for Services to the Republic of Austria' by the Austrian President in January 1995. In January 1996, Mr BinHendi was conferred the 'Honour of the Order of Merit of the Republic' with the title 'Cavalière' by the President of the Republic of Italy for the promotion and strengthening of cultural and commercial links between Italy and the UAE.

Apart from Mr Binhendi’s investments in retail, trading, furnishing, property and other sectors, he has today expanded into hospitality and the group is eyeing to develop his own concepts and restaurants. Mr BinHendi also embarked on franchising with the 7 Franchise Group, and is one of the first UAE-based groups to start franchising out its own locally born brands.

Chief Executive Officer

Amna BinHendi currently sits as the Chief Executive Office of BinHendi Enterprises, a position she has held since September 2007. As the CEO, Amna has successfully stirred the organisation into becoming one of the fastest growing trading and distribution companies in the UAE that has its eyes sets on becoming power house in the industry across the region.

Prior to joining the family business, the young ambitious executive’s experience included a brief stint at the Dubai E-Government after which she joined Bin Hendi enterprises as Vice President for Human Resources in December 2002. With her strong business and leadership skills, she has been promoted to become one of the youngest top female executives in the corporate sector.

Born in 1980, Amna completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems and Business Administration from Zayed University.
